PALLADEO COMPLETES FIRST GROUND-UP CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
FOR BRISTOL FARMS
35,000 square-foot Bristol Farms Rings in the New Year in Valencia
GLENDALE, Calif., Jan. 12, 2009 — Palladeo completed its first ground-up construction project for Bristol Farms. The gourmet retailer selected Palladeo Construct as the general contractor for the construction of its latest specialty food store in Valencia, Calif. The 35,000 square-foot store opened its doors in late 2008 and is located at 23975 Newhall Ranch Road.
The Valencia store is Palladeo’s first ground-up construction project for Bristol Farms, but the fifth project for the Carson, California-based gourmet and specialty food retailer. Teaming with Bristol Farms again, Palladeo was selected to maintain the intent of the design while managing cost effectiveness.
“In Palladeo we have found a trusted partner who truly knows Bristol Farms and what makes our stores so unique,” said Craig Ogaz, director of operations development for Bristol Farms. “We know we can count on Palladeo to keep the project on schedule, to be professional, flexible and maintain open and honest communication.”
Palladeo Create, the company’s fixture and décor fabrication and installation division, fabricated and installed the interior décor that was designed by DLEnglish Design Studio, based in Long Beach, Calif. The store includes individual “shops” with full facades and themed props, including a fresh juice and smoothie counter, fresh sushi department, coffee bar and café. The wine area, with its four walls, wine racks and roof trellis, resembles a specialty wine boutique.
Large painted murals that showcase the history of the area are displayed throughout the Valencia store, including the silhouette of an oak tree in the deli area that pays homage to Valencia’s reputation for its well-landscaped boulevards and pathways.
Palladeo’s previous projects with Bristol Farms include a major remodel of the company’s South Pasadena store, a second-use remodel in La Jolla, an open-store remodel in Manhattan Beach and a second-use remodel in Palm Desert.
